Ministries

Vestry Leadership
Composed of nine elected and three appointed (non-voting) members, the Vestry has the Fiduciary Responsibility for the Church. They meet monthly to discuss Parish financials and operational concerns. To learn more about members of the Vestry you can go here.

Children’s Ministry
Under the leadership of Director of Children’s Services Susan Dale, this ministry includes the Sunday School and Nursery programs and special events like the summer day camp and Christmas pageant.

Pastoral Care
Church volunteers direct and care for shut-ins and people in crisis. Forward Journey, a support group for people who have suffered bereavement or who would like companionship and a sense of community meets monthly.

Music Ministry
Jordan Nylander is our music director. Handbell and Choir practice is every Wednesday starting at 6 pm. Whether it’s hand bells or choir, jazz vespers or a special instrumental soloist or group, this ministry welcomes musicians and those who support the creation and joy of music.

Thursday Crew
People who like to paint, garden, clean, or have other handy skills would enjoy hanging out with this group of friendly faces who meet once a week to perform maintenance and enjoy a good chat after.

Food Pantry
SL2 offers free Road Bags to Go complete with a full meal ready to eat, no cooking or heating required. Limited emergency supplies are also kept on hand. Donations of single servings of protein, fruit, vegetable, starch and dessert are typically what is put inside the bag.

Joan Wilson Prayer Shawl Guild
If you would like to create beautiful prayer shawls, your talents can always be used here.

Friday Night Live
This adult-only potluck takes place once a month on the fourth Friday of the month. Details can be found by going to the events calendar.

Ushers and Greeters
Volunteers play a vital role during each of the three Sunday services. They welcome attendees and provide assistance during the service.

Flower & Altar Guild
The Altar Guild plays a significant role in maintaining the correct appearance of the altar including flowers. Donations made in honor of a date of significance are recognized.

Coffee Hour
Church attendees are encouraged to attend the coffee, tea and sweets hour following the 10 am service. Volunteers can sign up on a clip board next to the kitchen to provide cookies, cake, or some other simple treat. Joey whips up a pot of perfectly brewed tea and has plenty of hot coffee to compliment the treats.
