Volunteer Ministries
Pastoral Care

Provides spiritual presence and prayer and practical assistance to parishioners in need. These include those who are elderly, physically challenged, emotionally distressed, isolated, or experiencing hardship.
Flower and Altar Guild
When: weekly
The Flower and Altar Guild plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty of the church’s altar and its surroundings. This group is responsible for preparing the altar for services and arranging flowers. Donations to the Altar Guild are often made in honor of special dates or loved ones, and these contributions are recognized during services.
Responsibilities Include: Preparing the altar, arranging flowers
How to Donate: Make a donation in honor of a significant date or loved one, and it will be acknowledged during the service

The guild is responsible for preparing the altar and flowers prior to services. Volunteers provide flowers and bread for communion.
Thursday Crew
When: Thursdays at 8 am
The Thursday Crew is a friendly group of volunteers who meet weekly to perform light maintenance tasks around the church. If you enjoy painting, gardening, cleaning, or have other handy skills, you’ll love hanging out with this dedicated team. Not only do you get to help keep our church beautiful, but the Thursday Crew is also known for good conversation and camaraderie.
Who Can Join: Anyone with a knack for maintenance or a willingness to lend a helping hand
Activities Include: Painting, gardening, cleaning, and other maintenance tasks
This is the work crew for the church. We provide building maintenance and do everything from cleaning and organizing to construction, plumbing, electrical and painting.
Ushers & Greeters
When: During all three Sunday services
Our Ushers and Greeters play an essential role in creating a welcoming environment at St. Luke’s San Lucas during our three Sunday services. These volunteers greet attendees, provide assistance, and help with seating, making everyone feel at home in our church community. Ushers and greeters are the first faces people see, and they help ensure that services run smoothly.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers
When: Each Eucharistic service
Chalice bearers read the second lesson and the Prayers of the People. They also administer the cup of salvation during Communion. This role requires training and a separate license.

Videographers

The audio/visual team provides support for those in the church and livestreams and records sessions for those unable to attend in person. Training is provided and experience is not necessary.
Communion Bread Bakers

Vestry

As the governing body, the Vestry has the fiduciary responsibility of the church. All meeting are open to the congregation. The vestry consists of nine members and a clerk. The clergy are also part of the vestry.
