Resources

As a downtown church, SL2 serves the community around us in several ways. We receive those who need help, the unsheltered and working poor. Our help can be as simple as a sack lunch, or a warm coat. We also help with more challenging issues such as housing referrals, or helping Spanish speakers learn English. We network with schools, other churches, the Council for the homeless, the City of Vancouver and SHARE. If you need or help, or want to help others, contact us.

Baptisms
Can be scheduled by contacting the Rector.

First Communion
Classes are offered twice a year in both English and Spanish

Confirmation
All confirmations are performed by the Bishop and according to their schedule. When the Bishop visits they also offer reception for those coming into the Episcopal Church, or reaffirmation for those who left and returned.

The Columbarium and St. Francis Chapel
Located off the Narthex, the Columbarium houses the cremated remains of loved ones in niches. These niches are available for purchase. Please contact the office for more information.

The Parish Hall is the location of coffee hour and Friday Night Live and other food-inclusive gatherings and committees.

The Women’s Shelter, (WHAT) helps unsheltered women find permanent housing. The shelter run at SL2 has space for 18 women. Women in need can access service through the Council for the Homeless, 2306 NE Andresen Rd, Vancouver, (360) 699-5106 or by visiting their website by clicking on this link: https://www.councilforthehomeless.org/
